Enhance Your Confidence: Expert Breast Augmentation in Scottsdale

Breast augmentation in Scottsdale can help women with small or unevenly sized breasts enjoy a fuller, firmer, better-proportioned bust, through the placement of saline or silicone implants in the breast. You might be interested in breast augmentation for any number of different medical and aesthetic reasons, including balancing breast size, compensating for reduced breast mass after pregnancy or surgery, and correcting a congenital breast defect. We’ll work with you to help you enjoy the bust of your dreams, so you can look and feel the way you’ve always wanted.

We know that every woman is unique in both her desires and her body shape, which is why we take care to learn everything there is to know about your personal journey, including your hopes and aspirations for the outcome of your procedure, as part of our preoperative consultations.

We’ll help you decide on the specifics of your surgery, including details like picking out which implant type and placement is best, giving you the chance to enjoy a completely customized treatment, designed with your specific goals in mind and tailored to the unique contours of your individual body.

Complementary Procedures

While breast augmentation in Scottsdale can achieve dramatic, aesthetically pleasing results on its own, it can also be paired with other cosmetic surgeries or non-invasive procedures for more comprehensive results. We sometimes recommend combining breast augmentation with other procedures, such as a breast lift, for more satisfying results. If we think this might be a good option for you, we’ll discuss the details during your consultation, and help you pick the procedure that’s perfect for you.

Breast Augmentation Before and After Photos

I would recommend Dr. Admire a thousand times! The doctor and his staff are kind, caring, and very professional. I was a little apprehensive about getting breast implants but the team calmed my nerves and turned the anxiety into excitement.

Saline or Silicone Gel Breast Implants?

Breast implants are silicone shells, filled with either saline (salt water) or silicone gel. Both types of implant are very safe, and each offers its own unique advantages. Before your surgery, we’ll help you decide which one is right for you. During your surgery, Anthony A. Admire will place the implants behind each breast, underneath either the breast tissue or the chest wall muscle.

After many years, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved silicone breast implants for breast augmentation surgery. At AdmireMD® Plastic Surgery + Skin Clinic, we are incredibly proud to offer patients the option of silicone gel-filled breast implants, which tend to be much softer and feel a bit more natural than their saline-filled counterparts.

More About the Breast Augmentation Procedure

Depending on the specifics of your surgery, your breast augmentation procedure will last between one and two hours, and will likely be performed with general anesthesia. The incisions will be made in inconspicuous places on the breast, to minimize scar visibility.

Depending on the specifics of your procedure, Anthony A. Admire will pick between these incision types:

  • Transaxillary Incision: In the armpit
  • Inframammary: In the crease on the underside of the breast
  • Periareolar: Around the areola (the dark skin around the nipple)

The breast is then lifted, creating a pocket into which the implant is inserted. Saline implants can also be placed endoscopically, through an incision in the navel, in a minimally-invasive breast enhancement technique known as a transumbilical breast augmentation, or TUBA approach.

Your Implant Placement Options

Implants placed beneath the muscle of the chest offer a few advantages over placement beneath the breast tissue only. These include a reduced risk of capsular contracture (post-operative tightening around the implant), and less interference with mammogram examinations. Possible disadvantages include the need for drainage tubes, and increased pain in the first few days following surgery.

During your consultation, we’ll talk over your options, and pick the best one for you. With the TUBA procedure, implants cannot be placed beneath the chest wall. After the implants have been inserted and positioned beneath the nipples, the incisions are stitched closed, then taped and bandaged, with the bandage being replaced by a surgical bra after a few days’ time.

The Breast Augmentation Recovery Process

You’re likely to feel a bit tired and sore after your breast augmentation surgery, which usually passes in a day or two. You should be able to return to work and your day-to-day within the week, with stitches being removed in a week to 10 days after your breast augmentation in Scottsdale. Any postoperative pain, swelling, and sensitivity will diminish over the first few weeks, and the scars from your incisions will begin to fade in a few months, continuing to disappear for months or years after your procedure.

Are There Any Potential Complications?

Complications following breast augmentation surgery are quite uncommon, and usually minimal. They may include capsular contracture, swelling and pain, infection around the implant, a change in nipple sensation, milk production if you’ve nursed a baby within a year before the procedure, and breakage or leakage of the implant (implant rupture) as a result of injury or the normal compression and movement of your breast.

If a saline implant ruptures, the implant will simply deflate in a few hours and your body will absorb the salt water. If a silicone implant leaks, on the other hand, you’ll need to see a doctor immediately. We recommend regular monitoring of your breast implants after surgery, to ensure continued breast and implant health.
